Josh Pierre, 21, is accused of shooting Shelson "JJ" Jules twice in the back as he ran away on Lyman Street just before 1:30 a.m. on May 22, Waltham police said. Pierre and several others had driven to the area to meet with the victim and began shooting shortly after a brief exchange, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed Jules to Lahey Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police described Pierre as standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes, and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen driving a 2016 silver Honda Accord with the Massachusetts license plate 2XGH85.

Investigators warn anyone who sees him to contact 911 immediately. Do not approach him.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Christopher Murgo with the Massachusetts State Police at 781-897-6609 or Waltham detectives at 781-314-3550.

Strawensky Cebeat, 21, of Waltham, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder and withholding evidence from a criminal proceeding in the slaying, authorities said. He was being held on $50,000 cash bail.
